this is another amazing manga about the taisho era that is so adorable!
it’s about Aoi whose family used to be a merchant family but became wealthy because their business was successful. unfortunately, she is nowhere near a lady yet and so for six years reiichirou, a fallen noble, has been teaching her the skills she needs. the story follows her daily life so it’s funny and cute
anyone who likes shoujos with a historical twist should definitely read this!
i’ve been meaning to do a post on the fate stay night/ fate zero series so here it is! along with the music that i like
since fate zero is still airing, i’ll just summarize the anime.
it’s about the holy grail war where seven magi are chosen by the holy grail to fight for the wish that the grail will grant. in order to fight each other, the magi summon servants (mostly strong heroes of the past) and try to beat each other mentally and physically.
there’s some humor, a lot of action, and the story is irresistable. there is also a little bit of romance that makes everything better so everyone who needs a good anime should check this out.
im also in love with the openings and endings so here’s the list:
the first opening is oath sign by LiSA (Yui from Angel Beats)
the first ending is Memoria by Eir Aoi (the video is amazing, it shows the servants and their pasts. and the song is catchy in a good way)
the second opening is to the beginning by kalafina (if you haven’t seen my previous post, i LOVE kalafina! great song, perfect harmonies, it’s just amazing so definitely give this a try)
the second ending is sora wa takaku kaze wa utau by haruna luna (it has been stuck in my head all week! i love the lyrics, the music, and her voice! try this song too if you like nice melodies)
i was watching kuroko no basket and having a blast when i realized that i didn’t even post anything about the new spring animes. i’m sorry for that. so here it is:
of course kuroko no basket
Fate Zero part 2 (i’m so happy it came back! don’t ever end!)
hiiro no kakera
Jormungand (https://hilarypham.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/jormungand/ OMG! THEY MADE AN ANIME! I CAN DIE HAPPY!)
Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (i’d give this a 3/5. if you’re into more shounen stuff then try this)
usually i can’t find any good chinese mangas (manhwa, whatever you call it) but is a good shoujo
it’s another great demon and human love story thing. but don’t just not read it and pass it off as a bad version of hana to akuma! it’s pretty good in it’s good way. this demon named nian picked up a human baby he found in the forest and after fifteen years he falls in love with her. then some other things happen and at first i liked him but then i didn’t. ok, i’ll stop there before i spoil the story
anyways, it has great art, nice romantic plot so check this out
man, i love historical-shoujo mangas. and here’s agood one that has a totally badass heroine who beats up guys using either a wooden sword or even a hoe.
the story is about kasane who is your average high school girl but she’s also really good at kendo. one day when she saves her brother from getting run over by a truck, she grabs on to a sword and gets transported back to the warring states era. after a few things happen and she saves a group of prisoners from a castle using her skills, she gets caught up with Oda Nobunaga‘s rise to power. (for those of you who have no idea what i’m talking about, nobunaga basically started the unification of japan in the 1500s and was a military guy so he conquered a lot of japan). then everything gets pretty entertaining when she gets pulled into all the fights and gets involved with revolts.
the art is really good, you’ll love kasane, and the story is amazing so definitely check this out
this is a really sweet and sad shoujo because it’s so sweet and i cried at some moments but i loved it
it’s about this really unfair world where social status is what dominates your life. then there’s “the demon king’s” castle where the master of the castle is an orphan and took over when he was young so now all the butlers have control. there’s also a rule that whenever the master walks by, all the servants have to face the wall and never look into his eyes or at his face. (geez, prejudiced much?) priscilla is a maid at the castle and on her day off, she meets the master of the castle himself but actually he turns out to be just a regular guy. then the trouble starts
the art is gorgeous and the story is really good. plus, it’s kinda short if you just want a quick read so definitely check this out
Yukimura Yuni also wrote this adorable oneshot that i absolutely love. it’s about a witch and how she’s not as bad as witches are supposed to be. then she takes on a job to wake up the prince. it’s really cute so read this too
this is another amazing mangaka. if you like shoujo romanaces with a strong female character, definitely check out her mangas.
my favorite manga has to be Akagami no Shirayukihime. it’s an adorable story about a red haired girl who has to run away from her house after a prince tries to marry her. while on the run, she meets zen who turns out to be the prince of a wealthy kingdom and after he shows up and saves her from the other prince, he offers her the chance to become a physician. the story basically follows them working together and it gets really cute 😉
there’s also Seishun Kouryakuhon which is about a all male school next to an all female school and one day, Isesaki who is a second year student at the school, falls in love with a girl he saw while walking to school. (he saw her while looking through a window….kinda creepy but sweet) then the story just follows their crazy high school life 😉 it’s funny and their friendships are really sweet.
she’s also written a lot of cute oneshots like:
Vahlia no Hanamuko
Otogibanashi no Fude
Ginsekai no Shoumei
bokura o tsunaide
they’re all really sweet and cute and perfect shoujos so read them!
