The Hands the Demon Adored

usually i don’t do posts for oneshots but this one was absolutely amazing

it was about a demon named rin who has been collecting beautiful body parts for his body. one day, he sees a girl named miwako play the piano and asks her to give him her hands. then she promises to give them to him after she plays the accompaniment for a wedding.

the art is gorgeous and the ending is perfect (well, a little more romance would have been nice). read this if you like sweet shoujo oneshots

i did an earlier post of Takagi Shigeyoshi’s works but here’s just another list if you haven’t read the other post:

Film Girl

Bitter Trap

Bara to Dangan

Anya Kouro

Hana ni Arashi

Hyakujuu Kingdom

Sayonara Football

if you haven’t noticed from all my other posts, i love mangas that have a strong female character. this manga is no exception

it’s about this girl named Onda Nozomi who is amazing at soccer (football) and she can keep up with the male players at her school’s soccer team but soccer is a very physical sport and since she’s a girl, things are tough. but she’s determined to play in an official match and uses all her tactics to try to get the coach to agree.

if i make the manga sound like she does something illegal, she doesn’t. it’s nice to see a girl try to be equal to guys so definitely read try this

Love So Life

to all those people who love a good shoujo that’s really warm and cute, this is for you

it’s about a high school girl named shiharu and lives in an orphanage. since she grew up in that orphanage and learned to take care of other kids at a young age, the famous news reporter matsunaga asks her to help baby sit the twin babies his brother left behind before running away. then the story gets really cute when they start treating her like family and shiharu starts falling for him (it’s been 33 chapters and nothing has really happened yet. noo!!)

if you love an adorable shoujo with really really really cute babies, read this! it’s one of my top five favorites

Natsume Yuujinchou

this has to be in my top favorite shoujo mangas ever. it’s sad, funny, and there’s an anime!

the story follows the book of friends that is a collection of numerous youkai‘s signatures and gives the owner of the book the power to control all those youkai. then natsume, who can see youkai, inherits the book from his grandmother who was notorious for defeating youkai back in her day. when he was younger his parents died and forced him to be moved from relative to relative and each of them ended up not liking him because he could see youkai. after moving with the fujiwaras who are kind and let him live with them, he starts to meet youkai and gets to know them more

it’s a touching story and the art in the manga is a little bit messy but i just love this so definitely check it out

Ah! Itoshi no Banchousama (Dear School Gang Leader)

this manga is a mix of shoujo and shounen but it’s really fun to read when you’re bored.

Hayaka was just a regular girl when her parents got divorced and now she and her mom have moved to anew town to make a fresh start. (it isn’t another story about ghosts in the countryside) To make things easier for her mom, she decides to go to an industrial high school. When she arrives she finds that the school is filled with delinquents who always get in fights and that there aren’t any other girls in the school. Then she becomes friends with the school’s strongest fighter and other colorful characters and after a lot of things happen she becomes the school gang leader of the school.

the art is nice, the story is cute and full of humor so if you want a few laughs then try this one

Hanasaku Iroha

this an anime i’ve been meaning to watch for a long time now and i finally started it!

the show is about a girl named ohana who has a really bad mom. one day, her mom runs away with her boyfriend and tells her to go to a hot spring inn called kissuiso since her grandma is there. the second she arrives, ohana is put to work to earn her keep and she undergoes training to become a waitress at the inn. it’s a really good slice of life story that makes you laugh sometimes then makes you cry.

it’s got romance, a cute tsundere, a lot of humor (but you have to get through the first two episodes then you start to love the show), and it’s just a good anime so i totally recommend it!
