Warau Kanoko-sama/Koi Dano Ai Dano

this is one of my favorite mangas because kanoko is not at all like your typical heroine

warau kanoko-sama is about kanoko during middle school. her family has always moved around a lot so she never really got close to any of her classmates and thinks of herself as a “refreshing girl” and basically observes the other students and keeps a journal about them. at a certain school, she meets the three most popular students and gets involved with them so it’s about how crazy she acts at all the schools she attends.

koi dano ai dano is about her high school but now one of the students she met at her middle school is her classmate and together they disrupt the club status quo at the school while tsubaki (the guy from her middle school) tries to get her to realize he likes her.

they are both hilarious, the art is alright, and all the characters are amazing so anyone who likes a good shoujo should just read koi dano ai dano but anyone who likes humor and a strong female character should read both 😉

Akuma to Duet

another beautiful shoujo manga with romance and a supernatural twist

it’s about a girl named Mel who has been persecuted all her life for being a witch since she can tame demons. one day, she visits prince claude and he asks her to marry him but prince claude is actually not what he says he is.

the art is gorgeous and the characters are all hilarious so i definitely recommend this!

Hakamori Majo Bianca

this is one hell of a good manga. it’s pretty recent but im absolutely in love with the story. and if anyone reads this post and wants to help me understand what the uncle says at the end of chapter three then please comment because it’s really confusing me

so the story follows a witch named bianca who, unlike the other witches, still looks like the traditional scary witch (i think she looks good anyway) instead of cute like the other witches but she has strong magical powers and is in charge of watching over an important graveyard. there, she talks to her uncle, the legendary magician girrick. it follows her life and how she finds love.

the art is great, everything is absolutely adorable, and you’ll love bianca and her uncle so i would recommend this to basically anyone and everyone

Ghost Hunt

i’ve never been a person who read/watched horror stuff. the only sort of horror thing im willing to watch is ghost hunt because even though it sometimes scares me the hell out of me, it’s great.

it’s about a girl named mai who was telling ghost stories with her friends after school one day and meets kazuya shibuya. the next day, she accidently bumps into a camera he has set up in the school’s abandoned building and, instead of paying for the camera, has to help him exorcise the building. along the way, she meets a monk, a shinto priestess, a woman who can speak with the dead, and a priest and helps to solve cases.

personally, i like the anime much better than the manga but i definitely would recommend both for anyone who likes shoujo or mystery stuff. the art is good, the story is amazing, and the characters are all just awesome! there are some creepy moments but, trust me, if i can survive it and still fall in love with the story then that means ghost hunt is amazing 😉

Siesta

this is an amazing shoujo that’s got a few twists but is pretty good

it’s set in a world where there are bullet users who have special abilities but are discriminated against by others. Dia Canto is just your average girl except that she’s an orphan and is in love with her foster brother, Loe. after finding out that Loe is dating her friend, she uses her ability and meets Cid Leon who she eventually becomes hired to protect

the art is amazing actually, the story i good, and it’s interesting to read so definitely check this out!

Teki wa Ousama

this is new shoujo that just came out today that is pretty good far!

it starts off as your typical shoujo with the heroine, nobara, entering the school in order to find the prince she met with a kid. once she meets him, his attitude and his reaction to her are nothing like what she expected.

it sounds pretty typical but it’s by Ishihara Keiko so you know that the art is gorgeous and that there will be some sort of amazing twists coming up soon so all shoujo lovers should definitely check this out!

Cubism Love

i’ve been meaning to recommend this manga for a long time now and finally i’ve gotten around to remembering 😉

this is pretty interesting because it’s really different from your typical shoujo manga. it’s about a girl named noriko who gets into an accident during a track competition but when she opens her eyes she meets a doctor who tells her that they were only able to preserve her brain in a black box. then she slowly learns to live and falls in love only as a brain in a box.

it’s interesting, cute, and the art is amazing so all shoujo lovers should read this!

Chihayafuru 2

i’m so excited! chihayafuru just came back and judging by the first season, the anime will just get better and better.

for those of you who didn’t watch the first season, i suggest that you watch it as soon as possible. it’s funny, the art is gorgeous, and all the characters are absolutely amazing.

it’s about chihaya ayase who loves karuta which is a card game in japan (just google karuta, it’s hard to explain…) that is also extremely competitive. when chihaya was younger, she met a boy named arata wataya who basically taught her how amazing karuta really was. ever since then, she’s been striving to be the best karuta player in japan and now she’s in high school and of course she starts a club and meets incredible people while playing karuta.

so far in season 2, it’s been great. it’s still hilarious, the art is still as good, and things seem like they’ll get better so definitely watch this anime!

Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun

here’s another promising new anime for all the supernatural action lovers out there.

it’s about a boy named shino who was a survivor of a neighboring town that burned down. since there are a bunch of rumors about why the village burned down, he and the others that he is close to are shunned by the other villagers. Shino was also given the blade called Murasame which is extremely powerful. everything peaceful in his life is disrupted when the imperial church tries to take murasame and force him to go to the capital.

the anime had a pretty slow start but i think that within an episode or two it’ll become really good. the art is great and there’s a lot of action to come, i think. anyways, i think that supernatural lovers should at least try watching the first episode and maybe the second when it comes out

Amnesia

this is one of the new animes that are part of the winter simulcast and i’m just going to review each of them after i watch them.

this anime is actually pretty strange/confusing. it’s about this girl who, at the beginning of the episode, passes out at the cafe where she works and loses her memories. then she meets two guys who are supposedly her two childhood friends but of course she can’t remember them. next, she talks to this spirit that only she can hear and realizes that his soul bumped into hers which caused her to lose her memory and she learns that she should go about her daily life and hope to regain her memories.

it’s okay if you like stories with amnesia. the art is amazing though. seriously, the art is gorgeous, the male characters are all really really REALLY hot, and the plot seems to be going somewhere. you should watch this if you’re more into the girly-shoujo animes

Dear Brother!

this is a great josei manga that’s got a lot of cute sibling stuff 🙂

it’s about a 23 year old office lady named Komatsu Momo who was separated from her three brothers fifteen years ago. now she’s planning to get married soon and so she contacts her brothers and soon everything gets turned upside down.

it’s by Enjouji Maki so the art is good, there’s a lot of humor, and you’ll grow to love all the characters!

josei readers will love this!
