Hatsukoi no Itazura

this is an amazingly cute shoujo by Ichikawa Shou which means that it’s incredible 😉

it’s about a girl who can’t forget a promise she made with her first love that they would meet on a hill on her 16th birthday. When the day comes, there is a boy there waiting for her but he seems a little bit different from what she remembers

this is a gorgeous shoujo that people should definitely read!!!

Bara to Juudan

i’ve been meaning to make a post about this manga ever since it came out because it’s by Kayoru so of course the art is gorgeous (seriously, the art is freaking beautiful) and everything is adorable 😉

it’s about a girl named himemiya mitsuki who was just a normal high school student with a cruch on her neighbor. But on her 16th birthday, she notices some changes which lead to her everyday life being drastically changed. (i didn’t really want to spoil that much so im sorry if my summary is weird!)

anyone who likes shoujo mangas, good art, or just a sweet romance should definitely read this!

Bara to Juudan - Chapter 1 - 35

Bara to Juudan 1 Page 26

Warau Kanoko-sama/Koi Dano Ai Dano

this is one of my favorite mangas because kanoko is not at all like your typical heroine

warau kanoko-sama is about kanoko during middle school. her family has always moved around a lot so she never really got close to any of her classmates and thinks of herself as a “refreshing girl” and basically observes the other students and keeps a journal about them. at a certain school, she meets the three most popular students and gets involved with them so it’s about how crazy she acts at all the schools she attends.

koi dano ai dano is about her high school but now one of the students she met at her middle school is her classmate and together they disrupt the club status quo at the school while tsubaki (the guy from her middle school) tries to get her to realize he likes her.

they are both hilarious, the art is alright, and all the characters are amazing so anyone who likes a good shoujo should just read koi dano ai dano but anyone who likes humor and a strong female character should read both 😉

Ghost Hunt

i’ve never been a person who read/watched horror stuff. the only sort of horror thing im willing to watch is ghost hunt because even though it sometimes scares me the hell out of me, it’s great.

it’s about a girl named mai who was telling ghost stories with her friends after school one day and meets kazuya shibuya. the next day, she accidently bumps into a camera he has set up in the school’s abandoned building and, instead of paying for the camera, has to help him exorcise the building. along the way, she meets a monk, a shinto priestess, a woman who can speak with the dead, and a priest and helps to solve cases.

personally, i like the anime much better than the manga but i definitely would recommend both for anyone who likes shoujo or mystery stuff. the art is good, the story is amazing, and the characters are all just awesome! there are some creepy moments but, trust me, if i can survive it and still fall in love with the story then that means ghost hunt is amazing 😉

Siesta

this is an amazing shoujo that’s got a few twists but is pretty good

it’s set in a world where there are bullet users who have special abilities but are discriminated against by others. Dia Canto is just your average girl except that she’s an orphan and is in love with her foster brother, Loe. after finding out that Loe is dating her friend, she uses her ability and meets Cid Leon who she eventually becomes hired to protect

the art is amazing actually, the story i good, and it’s interesting to read so definitely check this out!

Teki wa Ousama

this is new shoujo that just came out today that is pretty good far!

it starts off as your typical shoujo with the heroine, nobara, entering the school in order to find the prince she met with a kid. once she meets him, his attitude and his reaction to her are nothing like what she expected.

it sounds pretty typical but it’s by Ishihara Keiko so you know that the art is gorgeous and that there will be some sort of amazing twists coming up soon so all shoujo lovers should definitely check this out!

Chihayafuru 2

i’m so excited! chihayafuru just came back and judging by the first season, the anime will just get better and better.

for those of you who didn’t watch the first season, i suggest that you watch it as soon as possible. it’s funny, the art is gorgeous, and all the characters are absolutely amazing.

it’s about chihaya ayase who loves karuta which is a card game in japan (just google karuta, it’s hard to explain…) that is also extremely competitive. when chihaya was younger, she met a boy named arata wataya who basically taught her how amazing karuta really was. ever since then, she’s been striving to be the best karuta player in japan and now she’s in high school and of course she starts a club and meets incredible people while playing karuta.

so far in season 2, it’s been great. it’s still hilarious, the art is still as good, and things seem like they’ll get better so definitely watch this anime!

THE END OF MOST OF THE FALL ANIMES! :(

i just finished watching Sukitte Iinayo, Kamisama Hajimemashita, K, and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun which have all ending during the week. It always makes me feel so old whenever i look forward to shows for so long and then they end. 😦

anyways, im here to just give you guys a little review on all of them so that you can go and watch them and then grieve later

Sukitte Iinayo

it’s about a high school girl named tachibana mei who had always been let down by her friends so early on she had decided that she didn’t need friends. then she meets the most popular guy in school named yamato who is nice and once they start dating, he basically helps her to view everyone in a different way.

it’s sweet,  funny, the art is gorgeous, and there are so many heartwarming scenes! all shoujo lovers should definitely check this out

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

this manga has been my favorite for a long time. it’s about this girl named shizuku whose life basically revolves around studying. one day her teacher asks her to bring handouts to a guy who hasn’t shown up to school since the first day when he beat up some upperclassmen. once she meets him, he’s actually a huge weirdo and once she promises to be his friend, he comes to school and then everything at school changes for her.

it’s adorable, all the characters are hilarious, and you’ll just sit there not knowing whose love to root for

Kamisama Hajimemashita

this is about a girl who is kicked out of her house since her dad left her with a bunch of debt and meets a weird guy who offers her a place to stay When she goes to the place he tells her to, she arrives at a shrine and meets tomoe, a fox youkai shrine familiar, and two other helpers (?). apparently the man that she had met was the previous god of the shrine who left twenty years ago and now she has to take over his job.

one word can summarize this anime and manga perfectly: CUTE! any one who likes adorable shoujos should definitely check this out

K

this anime was pretty interesting yet really confusing to explain so im just going to use the one that anime news network has

Ashinaka High School is known for its unique setting: the entire campus is built on an island. Yashiro Isana, aka Shiro, is having lunch with a cat on one of the school rooftops. After his lunch break, Shiro goes on an errand for his classmate Kukuri to prepare for their upcoming school festival, only to be chased by some intimidating-looking men.

i don’t love that summary so i’m just gonna add some extra stuff. the country is secretly ruled by seven kings and apparently shiro killed on of the red king’s clansmen but he doesn’t remember it and after he meets kuro, a bunch of things start to be triggered.

there’s a lot of good music, the art is amazing, and a ton of amazing voice actors are in this (Daisuke Ono (;)) Yui Horie, Jun Fukuyama) and there is a lot of action. this is more of a shounen anime so all shounen lovers should watch this

there’s a few more animes that i’d like to suggest like Psycho Pass (love it!)  but i’ll probably do the suggestions for those once they end.

Love Sick

i’ve just returned from my social hibernation but now i’ve got a ton of great mangas that I want to share and so i’ll start with a great one that i just read the updated chapter of.

it’s about a girl named Shiki who came to a prestigious school all for the sake of getting revenge for her father’s death. She thinks that the principal of the school killed her dad so she disguises herself as a boy and starts her plan for revenge by asking the four students with the most influence in the school for help who all used to know her dad and have secrets of their own.

it’s amazing, the art is beautiful, the plot keeps you on edge after every chapter, there’s a lot of action, and you’ll fall in love with all of the characters so definitely check this out!

Ookamidomo no Shitsukekata

this is a cute manga by shiraishi yuki so of course the art is gorgeous

it’s about Origawa Industry Public High School nicknamed the “Jail School” which is filled with guys. but in this school, there’s a single girl named nozomi who is the leader of her class. when soga keiji transfers into her class and doesn’t talk to anyone, she tries to get him to join the car competition with the rest of the class.

the manga is pretty short (it only has three chapters or so) but the romance is adorable and the art is amazing so try this for a quick read!

Atashi no Banbi

this is a cute shoujo with a lot of comedy and a tsundere. i starting enjoying the manga after “comedy” and “tsundere”

the story follows haruko nanase who used to get really bad grades but one day started to try studying and realized it was fun. now she’s entering an extremely prestigious high school as the top student. although she’s smart, she has no idea how to interact with other people. one day while riding the train, she witnesses a fight with one of the guys wearing th same uniform as her school’s. When the fight is over, he tries to make her pay a fee for watching the fight but she escapes. the next day, it turns out that guy is in her class and what’s worse he sits next to her. but once she meets him, she starts to see things differently than before.

the manga is pretty promising (why is there only one chapter out?!?!) and the characters are pretty amusing to watch so anyone who like comedy, school life, and romance, try this

Kamisama Game

i realized that i really need to post more action/shounen stuff so here’s a nice shounen manga

it’s about a guy name Akiba Takara who is the vie president at his school, good-looking, and seems to have everything going for him. one day he gets cursed by the goddess Kanou that makes him unable to leave Kanou City until he is able to fulfill a hundred people’s wishes. that means that all his life plans about going and studying tokyo would be ruined if he doesn’t break the curse. then he receives a weird task of finding the god hidden in his school within a month or else the entire world will end. Now let the game begin….

it’s pretty good. the story’s alright and the art is great so shounen lovers should read this!

Last Game

sorry for the long wait but here is a great shoujo manga that i absolutely love!

it’s about a guy named yanagi who is rich, smart, and good looking so basically the perfect guy whoo was always the best at what he did. then in comes kujou who transfers into his primary school class. she’s plain looking, is boring, and poor but beats him in academics and sports on the first day she arrives. when that happened, yanagi swore that he would beat her one day and followed her (it’s actually cute, not creepy) throughout high school and finally into college where his feelings for her have changed a bit..

the story is adorable, there’s a  lot of humor, and the art is gorgeous so shoujo lovers should definitely read this!

other works by Amano Shinobu that you should read are:

Katakoi Triangle-

a cute shoujo that is really confusing and cute because all three of the characters keep misunderstanding each other but in a cute way

Natsu no Kakera – really cute oneshots that make you cry too

Spring 2012 Anime

i was watching kuroko no basket and having a blast when i realized that i didn’t even post anything about the new spring animes. i’m sorry for that. so here it is:

of course kuroko no basket

hiiro no kakera

Jormungand (https://hilarypham.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/jormungand/  OMG! THEY MADE AN ANIME! I CAN DIE HAPPY!)

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (i’d give  this a 3/5. if you’re into more shounen stuff then try this)

Kuroko no Basket

this a great new manga/anime that just came out and so far, i’m loving the story

in the past three years of basketball history, there was a “generation of miracles” consisting of middle schoolers at teiko (did i spell that right?) middle school and all five were prodigies. but there was supposedly a sixth phantom member that was thought of as the best player by the other five members. so now, with the new school year, all the members of the “generation of miracles” have gone to their own prestigious high schools. at a certain school, the sixth player joins the basketball team and instead he’s weak and extremely easy to miss.

there’s a lot of humor, sports, and the art is amazing (for all the shoujo lovers out there, all the guys are good looking) so shounen people: you should watch this

Inu x Boku Secret Service

a great action-romance packed manga and anime that has a lot of humor and the cutest characters!

the story follows ririchiyo who is the descendant of an ayakashi. in the past, ayakashi and humans mixed and for some reason, the families with the ayakashi blood have always been very rich. but since the people who inherit the blood are seen as the ayakashi reincarnated, the families always treat them like the early ayakashi and so ririchiyo developed a sharp tongue to protect herself. since the descendants are weaker than full blooded ayakashi, to protect them there was a building where ayakashi descendants would live together with secret service body guards and they would band together in case they were attacked. the anime starts as ririchiyo moves in to the building, intending to live alone but she finds her own guard there. although she tries to get rid of him at first, she slowly gets to know him and meets the other people who live in the building.

i probably didn’t explain the plot right but definitely check this one out! there’s a lot of humor, the art is amazing (god, i want ririchiyo’s hair!), there’s romance, and there’s some action. the anime recently ended (the second i finished watching the last episode i wrote this post ;)) so watch this!!!

if you like supernatural animes/mangas, read this. just to convince you to watch the anime and read the manga, i’m gonna post a bunch of pictures

Cyboy

another great manga by nishikata mai

it’s about a guy named Kujou Kiyosumi who used to be nerdy and not very cool looking. after being rejected by the girl he liked in elementary school because he was “digusting”, he decided to change his entire appearance. with the help of his friend Sagiya Maki, his training begins and he enters high school as a handsome guy who immediately becomes popular. then he falls in love with a girl who hates popular guys

it’s got a lot of humor, the art is amazing, and you’ll love the characters so read this if you want a cute shoujo to read!

*AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! THEY’RE EATING CANDY BARS!!*

Hana no Kishi

just as i promised, here’s another great manga by nishikata mai

Ever since the day Ran Kurono’s older brother was killed while protecting Sei Ohtori, she has dedicated her skills and life to one day becoming the First Knight of the next head of the Ohtori family, even concealing the fact that she’s a woman forever. For generations the Kurono family has served the Ohtori family as their First Knight, but 11 other lower knights with ill intentions of using the Ohtori family’s authority vie for that title. Not only that, but Sei is being tested for being suitable for the title of head of the family. Upon entering Saint Locks Academy, the days of both Ran and Sei’s trials begin, all the while being helped by Sei’s untidy and unrefined fiance, Ibara Tennou.

if you didn’t read venus capriccio i’ll just say it again: the art is GORGEOUS! i’m sorry i used the summary from mangahere but i just couldn’t find the right words to summarize the manga! and it was driving me crazy.

anyways, the story has a lot of romance, humor, and you’ll just fall in love with ran’s character.

Venus Capriccio

this is one of my all time favorite shoujo mangas ever! the art is absolutely gorgeous and the story is adorable.

it’s about these two childhood friends named Takami, a girl who’s a tomboy, and Akira, a guy who looks kinda like a girl. they met at their piano school and ever since then takami has been looking at him as a younger brother. fortunately, akira’s not as dull.

if you love cute childhood love stories, this is perfect for you

look forward to all of nishikata mai’s works that i’ll be posting throughout the week! 😉
