Bara to Juudan

i’ve been meaning to make a post about this manga ever since it came out because it’s by Kayoru so of course the art is gorgeous (seriously, the art is freaking beautiful) and everything is adorable 😉

it’s about a girl named himemiya mitsuki who was just a normal high school student with a cruch on her neighbor. But on her 16th birthday, she notices some changes which lead to her everyday life being drastically changed. (i didn’t really want to spoil that much so im sorry if my summary is weird!)

anyone who likes shoujo mangas, good art, or just a sweet romance should definitely read this!

Bara to Juudan - Chapter 1 - 35

Bara to Juudan 1 Page 26

Brundage no Mahou no Shiro

this manga is so cute! it’s absolutely adorable, the art is gorgeous, and the characters are all so cute!

it’s about a girl named adrienne who is kidnapped by a former prince named donatian christian so that she could bear his child. at first, adrienne hadn’t liked him but now she’s in love with him. this story follows their life together and the people they meet and the challenges they face.

any shoujo manga lover definitely should check this out!!

Brundage no Mahou no Shiro Manga Vol.1 Ch.1 Page 65

Akuma to Duet

another beautiful shoujo manga with romance and a supernatural twist

it’s about a girl named Mel who has been persecuted all her life for being a witch since she can tame demons. one day, she visits prince claude and he asks her to marry him but prince claude is actually not what he says he is.

the art is gorgeous and the characters are all hilarious so i definitely recommend this!

Hakamori Majo Bianca

this is one hell of a good manga. it’s pretty recent but im absolutely in love with the story. and if anyone reads this post and wants to help me understand what the uncle says at the end of chapter three then please comment because it’s really confusing me

so the story follows a witch named bianca who, unlike the other witches, still looks like the traditional scary witch (i think she looks good anyway) instead of cute like the other witches but she has strong magical powers and is in charge of watching over an important graveyard. there, she talks to her uncle, the legendary magician girrick. it follows her life and how she finds love.

the art is great, everything is absolutely adorable, and you’ll love bianca and her uncle so i would recommend this to basically anyone and everyone

Ghost Hunt

i’ve never been a person who read/watched horror stuff. the only sort of horror thing im willing to watch is ghost hunt because even though it sometimes scares me the hell out of me, it’s great.

it’s about a girl named mai who was telling ghost stories with her friends after school one day and meets kazuya shibuya. the next day, she accidently bumps into a camera he has set up in the school’s abandoned building and, instead of paying for the camera, has to help him exorcise the building. along the way, she meets a monk, a shinto priestess, a woman who can speak with the dead, and a priest and helps to solve cases.

personally, i like the anime much better than the manga but i definitely would recommend both for anyone who likes shoujo or mystery stuff. the art is good, the story is amazing, and the characters are all just awesome! there are some creepy moments but, trust me, if i can survive it and still fall in love with the story then that means ghost hunt is amazing 😉

Siesta

this is an amazing shoujo that’s got a few twists but is pretty good

it’s set in a world where there are bullet users who have special abilities but are discriminated against by others. Dia Canto is just your average girl except that she’s an orphan and is in love with her foster brother, Loe. after finding out that Loe is dating her friend, she uses her ability and meets Cid Leon who she eventually becomes hired to protect

the art is amazing actually, the story i good, and it’s interesting to read so definitely check this out!

Cubism Love

i’ve been meaning to recommend this manga for a long time now and finally i’ve gotten around to remembering 😉

this is pretty interesting because it’s really different from your typical shoujo manga. it’s about a girl named noriko who gets into an accident during a track competition but when she opens her eyes she meets a doctor who tells her that they were only able to preserve her brain in a black box. then she slowly learns to live and falls in love only as a brain in a box.

it’s interesting, cute, and the art is amazing so all shoujo lovers should read this!

Hakkenden: Touhou Hakken Ibun

here’s another promising new anime for all the supernatural action lovers out there.

it’s about a boy named shino who was a survivor of a neighboring town that burned down. since there are a bunch of rumors about why the village burned down, he and the others that he is close to are shunned by the other villagers. Shino was also given the blade called Murasame which is extremely powerful. everything peaceful in his life is disrupted when the imperial church tries to take murasame and force him to go to the capital.

the anime had a pretty slow start but i think that within an episode or two it’ll become really good. the art is great and there’s a lot of action to come, i think. anyways, i think that supernatural lovers should at least try watching the first episode and maybe the second when it comes out

Amnesia

this is one of the new animes that are part of the winter simulcast and i’m just going to review each of them after i watch them.

this anime is actually pretty strange/confusing. it’s about this girl who, at the beginning of the episode, passes out at the cafe where she works and loses her memories. then she meets two guys who are supposedly her two childhood friends but of course she can’t remember them. next, she talks to this spirit that only she can hear and realizes that his soul bumped into hers which caused her to lose her memory and she learns that she should go about her daily life and hope to regain her memories.

it’s okay if you like stories with amnesia. the art is amazing though. seriously, the art is gorgeous, the male characters are all really really REALLY hot, and the plot seems to be going somewhere. you should watch this if you’re more into the girly-shoujo animes

THE END OF MOST OF THE FALL ANIMES! :(

i just finished watching Sukitte Iinayo, Kamisama Hajimemashita, K, and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun which have all ending during the week. It always makes me feel so old whenever i look forward to shows for so long and then they end. 😦

anyways, im here to just give you guys a little review on all of them so that you can go and watch them and then grieve later

Sukitte Iinayo

it’s about a high school girl named tachibana mei who had always been let down by her friends so early on she had decided that she didn’t need friends. then she meets the most popular guy in school named yamato who is nice and once they start dating, he basically helps her to view everyone in a different way.

it’s sweet,  funny, the art is gorgeous, and there are so many heartwarming scenes! all shoujo lovers should definitely check this out

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun

this manga has been my favorite for a long time. it’s about this girl named shizuku whose life basically revolves around studying. one day her teacher asks her to bring handouts to a guy who hasn’t shown up to school since the first day when he beat up some upperclassmen. once she meets him, he’s actually a huge weirdo and once she promises to be his friend, he comes to school and then everything at school changes for her.

it’s adorable, all the characters are hilarious, and you’ll just sit there not knowing whose love to root for

Kamisama Hajimemashita

this is about a girl who is kicked out of her house since her dad left her with a bunch of debt and meets a weird guy who offers her a place to stay When she goes to the place he tells her to, she arrives at a shrine and meets tomoe, a fox youkai shrine familiar, and two other helpers (?). apparently the man that she had met was the previous god of the shrine who left twenty years ago and now she has to take over his job.

one word can summarize this anime and manga perfectly: CUTE! any one who likes adorable shoujos should definitely check this out

K

this anime was pretty interesting yet really confusing to explain so im just going to use the one that anime news network has

Ashinaka High School is known for its unique setting: the entire campus is built on an island. Yashiro Isana, aka Shiro, is having lunch with a cat on one of the school rooftops. After his lunch break, Shiro goes on an errand for his classmate Kukuri to prepare for their upcoming school festival, only to be chased by some intimidating-looking men.

i don’t love that summary so i’m just gonna add some extra stuff. the country is secretly ruled by seven kings and apparently shiro killed on of the red king’s clansmen but he doesn’t remember it and after he meets kuro, a bunch of things start to be triggered.

there’s a lot of good music, the art is amazing, and a ton of amazing voice actors are in this (Daisuke Ono (;)) Yui Horie, Jun Fukuyama) and there is a lot of action. this is more of a shounen anime so all shounen lovers should watch this

there’s a few more animes that i’d like to suggest like Psycho Pass (love it!)  but i’ll probably do the suggestions for those once they end.

Kamisama Game

i realized that i really need to post more action/shounen stuff so here’s a nice shounen manga

it’s about a guy name Akiba Takara who is the vie president at his school, good-looking, and seems to have everything going for him. one day he gets cursed by the goddess Kanou that makes him unable to leave Kanou City until he is able to fulfill a hundred people’s wishes. that means that all his life plans about going and studying tokyo would be ruined if he doesn’t break the curse. then he receives a weird task of finding the god hidden in his school within a month or else the entire world will end. Now let the game begin….

it’s pretty good. the story’s alright and the art is great so shounen lovers should read this!

Fate Zero

i’ve been meaning to do a post on the fate stay night/ fate zero series so here it is! along with the music that i like

since fate zero is still airing, i’ll just summarize the anime.

it’s about the holy grail war where seven magi are chosen by the holy grail to fight for the wish that the grail will grant. in order to fight each other, the magi summon servants (mostly strong heroes of the past) and try to beat each other mentally and physically.

there’s some humor, a lot of action, and the story is irresistable. there is also a little bit of romance that makes everything better so everyone who needs a good anime should check this out.

im also in love with the openings and endings so here’s the list:

the first opening is oath sign by LiSA (Yui from Angel Beats)

the first ending is Memoria by Eir Aoi (the video is amazing, it shows the servants and their pasts. and the song is catchy in a good way)

the second opening is to the beginning by kalafina (if you haven’t seen my previous post, i LOVE kalafina! great song, perfect harmonies, it’s just amazing so definitely give this a try)

the second ending is sora wa takaku kaze wa utau by haruna luna (it has been stuck in my head all week! i love the lyrics, the music, and her voice! try this song too if you like nice melodies)

Spring 2012 Anime

i was watching kuroko no basket and having a blast when i realized that i didn’t even post anything about the new spring animes. i’m sorry for that. so here it is:

of course kuroko no basket

Fate Zero part 2 (i’m so happy it came back! don’t ever end!)

hiiro no kakera

Jormungand (https://hilarypham.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/jormungand/  OMG! THEY MADE AN ANIME! I CAN DIE HAPPY!)

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (i’d give  this a 3/5. if you’re into more shounen stuff then try this)

Inu x Boku Secret Service

a great action-romance packed manga and anime that has a lot of humor and the cutest characters!

the story follows ririchiyo who is the descendant of an ayakashi. in the past, ayakashi and humans mixed and for some reason, the families with the ayakashi blood have always been very rich. but since the people who inherit the blood are seen as the ayakashi reincarnated, the families always treat them like the early ayakashi and so ririchiyo developed a sharp tongue to protect herself. since the descendants are weaker than full blooded ayakashi, to protect them there was a building where ayakashi descendants would live together with secret service body guards and they would band together in case they were attacked. the anime starts as ririchiyo moves in to the building, intending to live alone but she finds her own guard there. although she tries to get rid of him at first, she slowly gets to know him and meets the other people who live in the building.

i probably didn’t explain the plot right but definitely check this one out! there’s a lot of humor, the art is amazing (god, i want ririchiyo’s hair!), there’s romance, and there’s some action. the anime recently ended (the second i finished watching the last episode i wrote this post ;)) so watch this!!!

if you like supernatural animes/mangas, read this. just to convince you to watch the anime and read the manga, i’m gonna post a bunch of pictures

Toyko Ravens

this is a shounen manga with lots of action and supernatural stuff

the story follows tsuchimikado harutora who is from the famous tsuchimikado family that has brought forth powerful onmyoji in the past. although he’s part of the family, he was born from a branch family and didn’t inherit the power to see spirit energy. natsume, his cousin, was chosen to succeed the family since she’s really strong. one day, she stops into town from tokyo and drags a bunch of trouble with her.

there’s a lot of action, some romance (not that great in the romance department though), and great art so read this!

Annarasumanara

i’ve read  few manhwas but this was my favorite. there’s an interesting plot, amazing art, and romance.

it’s about a girl named yoon ai who does really well in school but is actually poor since her mom died and her dad left town, leaving them with a lot of debt. one day, she hears a rumor that at the abandoned amusement park there’s a magician who lives there and is supposedly crazy. soon, she runs into the magician herself and everything about her life starts to turn around.

if i could be as cool as that magician, i could die happy ;). check this out if you want a nice romance and a bit of mystery in your day

Antimagia

here’s a great shounen with magic, a lot of gore, and fighting but it’s good

the story is about a country that was taken over by this huge ass called Demonas and he made the entire country suck then tried to forcibly marry the princess. the prince of the country supposedly died a few years before but at their wedding, he comes and summons this huge creature which kills Demonas. There have only been three chapters out so i’m pretty sure it’s about how Lucas, the prince, gets back his power and kills bandits around the country.

the art is great, lots of action, and some of the guys are really hot (see the end of chapter 3 😉 )

Blood Parade

this a good shoujo/shounen manga with vampires and something i’d like to consider romance

it’s about this guy named Gile whose family was killed by the original pureblood vampire and tried to become one of the twelve apostles, and orginaization who protects the world from vampires, and kill that original pureblood. one day he gets partnered up with a girl named luna who is mysterious and has a witty attitude. as they work together and get to know each other better, it seems there’s more to luna than he had first thought. (that’s as far as i’m willing to say without spoiling the story)

the art is absolutely gorgeous, luna is a really cute character, and you’ll love the story

Pureblood Boyfriend

Another great shoujo but it’s also got a nice vampire twist.

it’s about this girl Kana who came to her famous school on a sports scholarship but got injured. one day she saves girl from getting run over in the street and gets hurt herself. then her childhood friend appears, bites her throat and turns her into his servant. turns out he’s a vampire (and very hot 😉 ) and he’s participating in a game that is he can find and collect all the other stigmas (these weird tattoo things) in the world, he’ll become the ultimate being.

there’s a lot of romance, kind of weird lines here and there, but the art is absolutely gorgeous and all the guys are really hot so anyone who wants a really good shoujo, read this

Red Raven

for all you shounen and action lovers out there but there’s also a little bit of romance for the shoujo lovers out there, here is a really great manga with a lot of fighting and really cute characters

the story is about this society that is really corrupt, there’s mafia everywhere and the government is really weak. but there’s an organization that’s merciless and famous for their agents who kill without hesitation, the Last Enforcement Organization (aka Red Raven). then there’s the daughter of a mafia boss but she wants to turn her group into a good group and she meets this weird guy (hey, i thought he was cute 😉 ) and after a few things happen he turns out to be a Red Raven agent.

lots of action and what i really want to call romance but definitely give this a try
